HIS LOVE
The redemptive love of God fulfilled in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith, is the source of everything we do.
o We know He is the beginning and the end (Alpha and Omega). (Genesis 1:1; John 1:1; Revelation 22:13)
o We recognize that He is the source of knowledge and wisdom. All truth is God’s truth. (Proverbs 9:10; 1 Corinthians 2:5-10)
o We turn to Him to sustain us and operate out of an overflow of His love. It is His voice that brings transformation, not ours. (Psalm 29; Ezekiel 12:25; Isaiah 40:31; John 10:3-4)
o We always seek Creator over creation. We desire intimacy of relationship over manifestation of gifts. (Romans 1:22-23, 25)
HIS WAY
We live a Spirit-empowered life that brings us into a deeper relationship with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
o We believe in the Triune God - there is one God and three members of the Trinity. We equally value the uniqueness of and relationship with each. (1 John 5:7-8; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
o We seek Him in prayer and put our faith in what He has said and promised, believing that He works ALL things together for good. (Hebrews 10:23; Romans 8:28)
o We allow Him - not religion, tradition, power, or principality - to direct our steps. (Proverbs 16:9; Psalm 37:23-24)
o We walk in obedience to Him from a place of victory, not defeat. In obedience, He empowers and sustains us to do what He has asked. (Psalm 34:9-10; 1 Corinthians 15:57-58)
HIS PRESENCE
We set the table to encounter His presence. If the glory is not going to God, it’s not from Him.
o We fear God and walk humbly before Him, keeping His commands and aligning our hearts with His. (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14; Ezekiel 36:26-27; 2 Corinthians 3:2-3)
o We regularly gather and go in His name. Whether over meals, at homes, in communities, or to the nations, we expect His presence to be among us. (Zephaniah 3:17; Matthew 18:18-20; Acts 2:42-47)
o We encourage and model authenticity and vulnerability, establishing a place for people to bring their physical, emotional, and spiritual brokenness so that they can be healed. (Luke 4:18-21; John 14:10-14; Ephesians 4:1-3; 2 Corinthians 12:8-10)
o We honor and welcome Him in our worship, our teaching, our service, and our fellowship. (Psalm 29:2; John 4:23-24; Colossians 3:23-24)
HIS RESOURCES
Everything we have belongs to the Lord and we are good stewards of His resources.
o We listen for Him to speak and are sensitive to move with Him as He moves. (Isaiah 55:2-3; John 10:27; Romans 10:17)
o We look to Him to guide our steps, measure our words, and confirm His will as we submit ourselves to Him and to one another. (Ecclesiastes 12:10; 2 Corinthians 10:4-5; 2 Timothy 3:14-17; Ephesians 5:21)
o We steward well the treasures that have been given to us so that each gift may be honoring and pleasing to Him. (Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 4; Galatians 6:6-10; 1 Peter 4:10-11; 1 Timothy 6:20; Revelation 12:11)
o We care for one another’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs and are willing and prepared to meet those needs as He directs. (Mark 12:30-31; Acts 2:45; Galatians 6:1-5)
HIS PEOPLE
We love God relentlessly and love people recklessly.
o We go. To the orphans and to the widows. To the sick and to the poor. To the lost and to the broken. To those who can’t or won’t come, we go. (Matthew 5:3-15; Matthew 19:14; Matthew 28:18-20; James 1:27)
o We serve one another, our body, our community, and the Lord with joy and humility. (Romans 12)
o We disciple every member of the body, equipping them to build up the church, come to unity in faith, and mature in the Lord. (Ephesians 4:11-16)
o We will speak the truth in love and encourage each other to grow in every way to be more and more like Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith. (Ephesians 4:15; 2 Corinthians 2:17; James 5:19-20)
