Summary:

In Part III of The Gospel According to Job, we see that Job isn’t primarily a picture of Christ — he’s a picture of us. As he moves through lament, grief, and confusion, he begins to accuse God and justify himself. It’s a sobering look at how, when we suffer, we can unknowingly partner with despair and begin to twist our understanding of God’s justice.

But even then, God doesn’t abandon us. He sends Elihu — a Christ-like mediator — to call Job back to truth and prepare him for a face-to-face encounter with the Lord. Elihu rebukes gently, speaks with divine clarity, and makes space for Job to see God rightly again.

This message invites us to consider where we’ve elevated our own reasoning above God’s wisdom, and where we need to return to humility. It’s a call to remember that we’re not left alone in our brokenness. We have a Mediator who tears the veil, speaks on our behalf, and restores what pride and pain have distorted.

This is not just a story about suffering — it’s a story about redemption. And it’s ours, too.

Go Deeper:

  • Read Job 3–31 and trace Job’s emotional and spiritual journey

  • Reflect: Where have I partnered with despair or accused God?

  • Pray: “Jesus, be my Mediator. Help me see clearly again and restore what’s been twisted.”
